Friends first. Then a flag.
We met the way Bird Rock dads do — school pickups, birthday parties, beach days — most of our kids walking the same halls at Bird Rock Elementary. The boat talk was always there. The math never was… for any one family alone.
Then one of us, after six years on the list, was offered a wet slip at Mission Bay Yacht Club — the kind of thing people wait a decade for. We had a choice: let it pass, or build something.
So we're building something. A member-owned club — one hull, real house rules, a booking calendar, poker on the flybridge, kelp-forest mornings, Rady Shell nights — and dues that cost less than a gym-and-golf habit.
